Great Waltz
What could be more stunning than a concert in the rhythm of a waltz! We invite you to this magical and enchanting world! Luxurious and delightful waltzes by Johann Strauss, solemn and festive waltzes from Tchaikovsky's ballets, exquisite "Roads of Love" by Poulenc, sad and melancholic "Autumn Dream" by Joyce, Khachaturian's waltz, all-conquering by the elements of movement, and many other world famous works.
Among all dances, a special place undoubtedly belongs to the waltz. Now it is impossible to imagine, but in 1816 the English newspaper "The Times" was outraged that the program of the royal ball included a "sensual and obscene dance" waltz. Nevertheless, the waltz very quickly gained extraordinary popularity, and in the 19th century it became the main dance of all balls. The intense procession of the waltz began in Vienna, which was greatly facilitated by the famous compositions of the "king of waltz" Johann Strauss Jr. His compositions irresistibly affect any audience - from ordinary music lovers to famous musicians of the world. It is remarkable that the waltz also penetrates into "serious" music: into ballet, opera, then into a symphony, and finally becomes an independent concert form.
